The architects of the Prairie School designed many of the furniture and decorative pieces of their residential and business designs. In many instances the original client asked for specific designs for rugs and floorcoverings.
At Aspen Carpet Designs, all our rug designs are created - and owned - by us. We draw our inspiration from the great architects.

Aspen Carpet Designs featured on the national cable televsion show The Insider's List. The show last aired April 15, 2007. Fine Living Network is owned by E.W. Scripps Company that also owns HGTV, Food Network and DIY Network. Fine Living Network is the first television network dedicated to the pursuit of personal passions and the art of getting the most from every moment in life. The Insider's List is an hour long program with host Julie Moran and business insiders as they reveal trade secrets for a variety of products and services. Aspen Carpet Designs was chosen to be featured on an hour long program about area rugs. The producers chose us for our unique niche in Prairie School design rugs. They talked to us about how our clients can customize high quality rugs via the internet. An interview with us in our studio and an interview with a client who chose Aspen Carpet Designs to design custom area rugs for his original Walter Burley Griffin designed Prairie School style home are featured in our segment of the show. Several rugs were filmed for the show.
The Dana-Thomas House Foundation in Springfield, IL chose Aspen Carpet Designs to design rugs for exclusive sale by the Foundation. The first rugs are available through the Dana-Thomas House Foundation gift shop. Profits from the sale of these rugs go towards the maintenance and education programs related to the Prairie School styled Dana-Thomas house.
