You’ve found one of the only custom area rug design shops that specializes in Prairie School and Usonian inspired styles made popular by George Mann Niedecken, George Elmslie, Walter Burley Griffin & Marion Mahony Griffin, Joseph Eichler, John Lautner, and many others.
We create our own original designs in the Prairie School, Craftsman, Usonian (Mid-Century Modern) designs. Drawing our inspiration from the great architects, we create designs to complement, and enhance your home or business decor. Because we create our own designs, we can modify them to suit your taste. An exact copy of an original design can only be made with permission and a license from the respective architect’s Foundation.
Commercial space in a Prairie/Craftsman decor? We work with architects and homeowners to create custom designs for Banks, Retail stores, Hotels and Custom residential. We recently worked with the owners of the Boynton house in Rochester, NY on several custom Prairie style rugs featured in a PBS documentary filmed on the home restoration.
Our ‘Usoni’ design created in two 12’x18′ size wool rugs were used at “Prairie News & Gifts” in Terminal 3 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. We created a custom color scheme for our own Usonian rug design used at the store.
We designed four hand-knotted rugs for a major bank branch in Orlando, Florida.
We are also created 20 hand-knotted rugs totaling over 2,000 square feet for a custom Prairie Style home. We offer multiple rug discounts and contract pricing for orders over 1,000 square feet.
We’ve been featured in The Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, HGTV Magazine, This Old House Magazine, Bloomberg Magazine, Arts & Crafts Homes, Old House Interiors, Old House Journal, Voyage Chicago website, Sand Diego Union, and numerous other newspapers. See our segment below on the national cable program “The Insider’s List” that aired on Fine Living Network.
